Episode 40

We begin this week's episode with JUNE and BUCK. JUNE has just questioned BUCK as he just received a phone call from MONA after he said that he didn't know any AKA's.

BOBBY and LARRY are talking in the hall outside of BOBBY's apartment.

LARRY - Why don't you say what this really is about?

BOBBY - What?

LARRY - This is about you beating Quinton because he is dating Alexis and that is the girl that you wish was in your room right now!

BOBBY - What?

LARRY - You heard me man! Why don't you get off Quinton's dick?

BOBBY - Nigga please! Aint nobody thinking about Quinton!

LARRY - Yeah okay.

BOBBY - Whatever man. Look is that all you wanted? Like I said, I am kinda busy at the moment.

LARRY - So you really aint gonna do nothing about this election huh Mr. President?

BOBBY - Nope.

LARRY - Aight then, I see what kind of year this is gonna be.

BOBBY - Me too. Better than last year.

LARRY - Whatever man.

(LARRY turns to walk away.)

BOBBY - Hey, you aint gonna give me the grip?

(BOBBY smiles as LARRY comes back and give him the fraternal grip.)

BOBBY - Good seeing you again neo.

LARRY thinks - Wish I could say the same nigga!

(BOBBY giggles as he goes back into his apartment.)

CARYN - What took you so long baby? I missed you!

BOBBY - You know how I am sweetie, always busy.

CARYN - Well come here.

(BOBBY smiles as CARYN motions for him to come over.)

BOBBY - You got something in store for big daddy?

CARYN - Maybe.

(As BOBBY puts his arms around CARYN, the baby begins to cry.)op

BOBBY - Does that boy ever sleep?

CARYN - I'll be right back.

BOBBY thinks - Damn!

(CARYN goes over and tends to the baby. She picks him up and rocks him until he stops crying. She gives Lil DERRICK a pacifier and a toy.)

CARYN - Now where were we?

BOBBY - Right here.

(As BOBBY leans in to kiss CARYN his phone rings.)

BOBBY - Dammit!

CARYN - Get it Mr. President. The world may need your help.

BOBBY - Save my spot.

BOBBY thinks - Damn!

(BOBBY answers the phone.)

BOBBY - Hello!

QUINTON - Yo man, this is Q. You told Alexis some Alpha secrets?

BOBBY - What?

QUINTON - I said, did you tell Alexis some Alpha secrets?

BOBBY - What the hell are you talking about?

QUINTON - She just told me that you told her some frat secrets.

BOBBY - Look man, I am getting kind of tired of you neos bothering me over some bullshit! Stop being a sore loser.

QUINTON - What? You think that this is about the damn election? Fuck the election! If you told her some of our shit then that is foul!

BOBBY - I didn't tell Alexis shit!

QUINTON - Well I am about to talk to her and get to the bottom of this right now.

BOBBY - Well you do that

(ALEXIS comes out of the bathroom.)

ALEXIS - Are you okay? I heard your voice rasied a minute ago.

QUINTON - I'm fine. Don't worry about that.

ALEXIS - Oh okay.

QUINTON - I need to ask you a few questions though about what you just said.

ALEXIS - I figured as much.

QUINTON - What exactly did Bobby tell you about Alpha.

ALEXIS - Well for one, he showed me the grip.

QUINTON - What!

ALEXIS - Come here, let me show you.

JASON is at home and his phone rings.

JASON - Hello.

THERESA - Hey Jason, it's me Theresa.

JASON - Hey girl, what's up?

THERESA - Are you busy?

JASON - No not really.

THERESA - Can you swing by? I think we need to talk. Just to clear a few things up between us.

JASON - Aight cool, I am on the way over now.

THERESA - See ya soon.

(THERESA hangs up.)

THERESA thinks - I have to make sure my place is real tidy.

(THERESA hangs a picture up of her and Jason from when they first met.)

THERESA thinks - That looks perfect!

(There is a knock at the door.)

THERESA - That must be Jason.

(THERESA opens the door.)

THERESA - Hey J.

JASON - Hey. What's going on?

(JASON enters and they hug.)

THERESA - Glad that you could come over.

JASON - Sure, no problem.

THERESA - You want something to drink? A coke maybe?

JASON - That's cool. Thanks.

(THERESA brings back a coke.)

JASON - What's on your mind.

THERESA - Well, I know that you and I got off to a bad start. I really had...

JASON - Hey, nice picture!

THERESA - Oh that? Yeah, I have had that hanging there for a while now.

JASON - Cool. What were you saying?

THERESA - Yeah, I was saying that you and I got started on the wrong foot. I really liked you a lot and I wish things had gone differently.

JASON - I really liked you too. What actually went wrong between us?

THERESA - Willie.

JASON - What do you mean?

THERESA - I mean, Willie and I were girls and she knew that I liked you. But she chose to pursue you after you became an Alpha. That wasn't cool.

JASON - Really?

THERESA - Yeah, and that is why I got so pissed off. I am not a mean person, but when I thought about what she did to me, that shit was just uncalled for.

JASON - I guess.

THERESA - Think about it, what if one of your frat brothers stepped in between you and Willie now?How would you feel?

JASON - Pissed!

THERESA - Exactly! So now you can see where I am coming from?

JASON - Actually I can.

THERESA - See, I am not crazy! I never want to hurt you, I love you. I didn't mean to hurt you by slashing your tires, I was just mad that you were going out with Willie.

JASON - Oh, I understand.

THERESA - Do you?

JASON - Sure I do.

(THERESA smiles.)

THERESA - Jason, you really are a wonderful person. Truly you are.

JASON - Thanks! I appreciate that.

THERESA - Well I hope you appreciate this too!

(THERESA stands up and walks over to JASON. She throws her arms around his neck and kisses him passionately.)

THERESA - Did that bring back memories?

JASON - I can't quite remember, you may have to do it again. Ha ha ha ha ha!

(THERESA and JASON start kissing.)

THERESA - Take me right now Jason! Take me now!

(JASON picks THERESA up and plops her down on the couch.)

THERESA - Forget about Willie!

JASON - What?

THERESA - Forget about Willie! Forget about Willie! I want you back! I want you back! I want you back! I want you back! I wan...I...I want y...I wan...I wan...I w...

(THERESA pops up in her bed and looks around.)

THERESA thinks - Where am I?

(It is dark in her room and she checks her clock. She had dozed off studying. She now realizes that she was dreaming.)

THERESA - Dammit! I'm gonna get Jason back!

It is late and XAVIER is in the office of The Sands, the Ahpla newspaper. He is alone.

XAVIER thinks - I gotta get this story done by morning or else.

(XAVIER prints out what he has so far so he can see how his story is flowing.)

XAVIER thinks - This isn't bad but it is missing something. I just don't know what.

(The doorbell rings.)

XAVIER thinks - I wonder who this is.

(XAVIER opens the door.)

XAVIER - Hey Shareesa.

SHAREESA - Hi Xavier, you busy in here?

XAVIER - Naw, come on in.

(SHAREESA walks in and XAVIER closes the door behind her.)

XAVIER - What brings you by at such a late hour?

SHAREESA - I went for a walk to think about some things and I wound up here.

(SHAREESA reads XAVIER's shirt.)

SHAREESA - Phi Nu Pi til you die huh?

XAVIER - Yeah, yo know how I roll!

SHAREESA - Okay that was very corny.

(They both laugh very hard.)

XAVIER - Anyway! Shut up.

SHAREESA - Whew the guys on this yard are corny!

XAVIER - Anyway! So what all was on your mind?

(silence)

SHAREESA - A lot of things Xavier. Like...

(silence)

SHAREESA - I was talking to some sorors, just about men. Men in general.

XAVIER - Uh huh.

(XAVIER offers SHAREESA a chair.)

SHAREESA - Thank you. So we were talking and I just didn't understand why some women let men dog them out the way that they do you know?

XAVIER - Yeah, I wonder the same thing.

SHAREESA - But then it hit me that it is easy to talk about someone else's situation but overlook your own. I had been with Gregg for God knows how long and he has been dogging me out since the beginning. And I didn't do anything but let him get away with it. I probably gave him the ammunition to fire at me.

XAVIER - You shouldn't say that. Gregg is a cool guy, just a little misguided.

SHAREESA - No, Gregg is a wonderful guy. He is bright, funny as a comedian, and full of great ideas and vision. But he is not mature. And that is where I cannot connect with him anymore.

XAVIER - Yeah.

SHAREESA - He doesn't realize what he has in other people, and more importantly, he doesn't realize what he has in himself. So he is running around campus, thinking that he is the finest thing walking upright. It aint about that.

XAVIER - So what is it about doctor?

SHAREESA - It is about respecting yourself and respecting others. That is what it is about. He hasn't learned that yet and I grew tired of waiting for him to learn it. But the time he does learn it, I will be long gone.

XAVIER - I understand. I understand totally.

SHAREESA - Do you really?

XAVIER - Yeah. I believe that you cannot truly respect someone else unless you first understand what respect is and have some for yourself. How can I take you for a nice ride if I don't have a car or know how to drive one?

SHAREESA - Yeah.

XAVIER - So I would have to work on learning to drive and then getting a car before I extend an invitation to drive you somewhere right?

SHAREESA - Yep.

XAVIER - Same thing. How can I respect you if I don't understand how to respect myself first?

SHAREESA - Yeah, I see what you mean. Same thing.

XAVIER - So I understand what you are saying.

SHAREESA - So after talking with sorors, I just realized that I am tired. You know? Tired of games and broken promises. I deserve to be with someone special.

XAVIER - Oh you do. You definitely do. It will come.

SHAREESA - It's like...when? God only knows.

(XAVIER laughs as he rubs his eyes.)

SHAREESA - Oh are you tired? Am I keeping you away from your work?

XAVIER - Oh no, I was just rubbing my eyes because I have been staring at this computer screen for hours. Working on the next issue and I need to have this layout complete by tomorrow.

(XAVIER scoots his chair over to the computer to show SHAREESA. She gets up and stands behind his chair.)

XAVIER - Let me give you a sneak peek at the issue. I would normally have to kill a person if they saw this early. But you are cool with me, so I can let it slide.

(SHAREESA laughs.)

SHAREESA - Oh thank you kind sir, I shall relish the priviledge!

(XAVIER reaches back and playfully slaps SHAREESA's leg. She pops him in the head in retaliation.)

XAVIER - See this here is our cover story.

SHAREESA - Uh huh.

XAVIER - And this is the question of the week section.

(SHAREESA leans over XAVIER's shoulder and squints at the screen to get a closer look.)

XAVIER - I can just enlargen it for you, you don't have to go blind.

SHAREESA - Boy! I'm gonna slap you.

(SHAREESA throws her arm around XAVIER's neck as if to choke him. He playfully laughs. She leavers her arms around his neck as she reads the question of the week.)

XAVIER - And these are our announcements.

SHAREESA - Ooh, you should put an announcement for the skeephi party in New Orleans this summer!

XAVIER - What?

SHAREESA - I saw it in the chat room. Put an announcement in there!

XAVIER - Heck no!

SHAREESA - Pleeeeeeeeease?

(SHAREESA kisses XAVIER's cheek.)

SHAREESA - You wouldn't do that for me?

XAVIER - I would post the Alpha Kappa Alpha Psi party in here! Ha ha ha ha!

SHAREESA - Awww come on Z. Put it in there.

(SHAREESA talks with a baby voice and kisses XAVIER on the cheek again.)

XAVIER - No way!

(SHAREESA kisses XAVIER's ear.)

SHAREESA whispers - I won't tell anybody that a Kappa put the ad in there. I promise.

XAVIER - Nope.

(SHAREESA kisses XAVIER's neck and ear.)

SHAREESA whispers - I won't tell a soul.

(XAVIER turns in his chair toward SHAREESA and they begin to kiss.)
