The homecoming step show is in full swing. The crowd has been screaming for each team. Three of Ahpla's step teams have gone already. The show continues with the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho next.
SUEDE - Yall enjoying the show so far?

(The crowd is loud and screaming.)
SUEDE - Aight!
(SUEDE covers the mic and peeks back stage.)
SUEDE - Are yall ready?
CANDACE - Yeah.
SUEDE - Ok cool.
(SUEDE brings his head back out from the curtain.)
SUEDE - It looks like they are ready. Ahpla U., let's keep it hot! Help me welcome the ladies of the blue and gold!

SUEDE - You know I love these ladies! Us Nupes and the SGRhos got something about Indiana that we both love! Ha ha ha! So please, help me bring to the stage...where my SGRho's out there?

PAULA - Yep! Let's do this!
(The crowd starts bouncing as Bad Boys from Shyne comes on.)

(The crowd sings along.)

(CANDACE and PAULA step out.)

(CANDACE and PAULA do a party stroll to the song. They have on blue silk robes with the hoods up like boxers. There is a gold outline all around the robes. On the back of the boxing robes, it says RHO BABY! They stop as the music is mixed out.)

(They take their hoods off. A very buff brother comes out with nothing but blue boxing shorts on. He is holding up a sign that says Round 1. All the girls begin to scream like crazy. Cameras begin to go off.)
PAULA - Hey soror, I think someone way back in the audience said Sigma Gamma who?
CANDACE - What? That's whoa! Are you serious?
PAULA - Yeah we may be small in numbers at Aphla, but let's let em know we're here.... we're on the yard... and here to stay!

CANDACE - Haters? Hmm well, I don't know who out there is hating on me, but it musssssssssssst be the blue…
(CANDACE dusting off her right shoulder.)
CANDACE - and the gold…
(CANDACE dusting off her left shoulder.)
CANDACE - That they envy!
PAULA - Oh yeah? Well...
(The ladies in the audience start to scream as the buff brother comes out again in the blue boxing trunks. He now has a sign that says Round 2. Memphis Bleek's "Is That Your Chick" comes on. The crowd erupts and gets up and starts to dance.)
"Is that your chick? Why she all in his ride? With her hand on his thighs. Keep looking in his eyes. Oh is that your chick..."
SGRHOS - There's just one thing you got to understand!
(Candace points to the Delta section.)
CANDACE - A Sigma Gamma Rho doesn't have to steal your man!
(The crowd hollers but nobody notices that CANDACE is staring directly at CHRISTIAN who is grimacing back. The SGRHOS slow it down.)
SGRHOS - Cuz once he sees!

(The crowd erupts as they anticipate beef between the SGRhos and the Deltas.)

PAULA - Right! But let's let them know what we, the blue and gold are all about on this yard!
(They begin the next step. They are spelling words out.)

It's the call of the strongest of sororities!

(The crowd laughs loud.)
PAULA - But that's just one thing that we don't do!

PAULA - What? What? What? What is it? Let the crowd in on it!
CANDACE - We don't step like this…
(CANDACE imitates the AKA's steps with her palms out, stepping side to side. The crowd laughs, the AKA's do their call.)
PAULA - We don't step like that…
(PAULA does the Zeta tricky step. The crowd hollers. The Zetas do their call.)
SGRHOS - And we don't need to get attention by stealing moves from frats!
(They throw the Delta sign and then the Que sign and start hopping around barking. The crowd erupts in laughter. The Deltas are not amused.)
But if this isn't you, then you have nothing to say!
But if it is, don't be mad! Because you went the wrong way!
(The step finishes. The crowd is still laughing.)
SGRHOS - Eeeeeeeeeee - yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip!
(The ladies in the audience scream again as the buff brother comes out with two blue and gold canes, as well as his sign. His sign, this time says Round 3 - The Knockout Round! He gives one cane to each of the steppers.)
CANDACE - You ready to break this down soror?
PAULA - Break it on down!
(click, clack, spin, click, clack)
(The crowd cheers as the SGRHOS spin the canes.)

SGRHOS - Let us show you how this step should go!

(SUEDE walks back out.)

(The crowd cheers loudly.)

(Everyone screams.)
SUEDE - Yo I just want to take a moment to acknowledge all the greeks participating in this show! It aint easy getting up here and they work long and hard to get their shows tight to perform for us. So let's give it up for all the teams representing!

(The ladies scream when "Turn Out the Lights" comes on and the stage goes dark.)

(The lights come back up and there are three Sigmas standing with their hands up throwing the Sigma sign.)
SIGMAS - Bluuuuuuuuuueee phiiiiiiiii!
VOICE - Or such chart buster hits as...
(The ladies scream again when they hear "Can You Stand the Rain" by New Edition. Three more Sigmas walk from inside the House of Blues to the front of the stage. They throw sprkinkles that float down into the crowd as the song plays. The crowd is screaming. They walk back into formation.)

VOICE - Or more recent hits like...
(The ladies all stand up as they hear "I Wish" by Carl Thomas. Three more Sigmas come from the audience which makes the crowd scream even louder. They join their brothers on stage and they all mimick spanking someone to the beat of the song. The ladies are sreaming wildly.)
"And I wish I’d never met her, at all! Eventhough, I love her so..."
VOICE - Sit back, relax, and enjoy the house of bluuuuuuuuuuuuue!

(The Amgis College Sigma step team is wearing blue sleeveless sweater vests and white pants.)
STUDENT - Wow it is so many of them! Did you see their show last year?
STUDENT - Yeah! They are off the hook!

(They start stepping and the crowd screams at their energy and volume.)
SIGMAS - You came to hear!

(The first line starts to do an intricate hand clap step. the other two lines strike a pose.)

(The third line does a different beat that is intricate but matches the first line.)

(The middle line drops down and starts to gyrate on the floor. The crowd screams and the ladies are all jumping up and down.)

(The middle line gets up and they continue to step.)

(The step team waits for the crowd to die down.)
SIGMA - Do not try this at home!
(The Sigmas pull out blue blindfolds.)
AUDIENCE - Awwwwwwww!
(Once they are all blindfolded, they begin to step.)
SIGMA - P...B...S...kick it!
SIGMAS - Phi Beta Sigma says!
Line number one!

(The guys in line one switch places. One leap frogs over the middle man, one scoots underneath him at the same time. the crowd goes wild.)

(The first Sigma in line two falls backward. The second Sigma catches him and turns him over. They both hit the floor as the thirs Sigma marches over both of them to the front. The crowd is screaming.)

And step like you can see!
(The first Sigma in line three jumps in the air and lands in a split. The second Sigma hoists the third Sigma onto his shoulders and they all throw up the Sigma sign.)

(The crowd gives the Sigmas a standing ovation. They begin to take their blindfolds off. They come to the front of the stage, hold hands and bow. They begin to step individually as they leave the stage. SUEDE walks back out.)
SUEDE - Give it up for Phiiiiiiiiii Beeeeeeeetaaaaa Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigmaaaaaaa! Working it out! Aight let’s keep the show moving! Coming up next! Where are the pretty prissy ladies of AKA?

(The AKAS huddle together and bow their heads as MAXINE leads them in prayer.)
